About the Client

Burflex is a leading scaffolding and access solutions provider serving the Hull, Leeds and Sheffield areas. With extensive experience across commercial, demolition and major construction projects, they are a well known name in their sector and recently underwent a full brand refresh.

The Brief

Burflex approached Leeds Web Designer after launching their new brand identity and needed a website to match. The Commercial Director, Richard, found us online, reviewed our portfolio and got in touch for a complete redesign that would align closely with their updated visual style and positioning.

The Problems

While the existing website was not severely outdated in terms of layout, it no longer reflected the new Burflex brand. The visuals, colours and overall feel were out of sync with their freshly updated logo, vehicle livery and marketing materials.

A major additional challenge was the domain itself. The previous design agency had subcontracted the build, and both companies had since ceased trading. The domain was effectively stranded. We carried out extensive background work to trace the domain’s ownership, eventually tracking it back to a registrar in the USA and liaising directly with them to resolve the issue. This was a key problem for Burflex and required us to go above and beyond the typical scope of a web design project.

The Solution

We rebuilt the Burflex website on WordPress, focusing on a clean, modern and robust layout that would feel solid and trustworthy while staying true to the new brand identity.

Our primary goal was to deliver a design that matched their updated branding as closely as possible, ensuring consistency across their online presence and their physical assets such as wagons and vans.

Brand-Led Design Details

A standout feature of the new site is the use of a custom skyline silhouette in the footer. Burflex’s vehicle livery features silhouettes of landmarks from Leeds, Sheffield and Hull, so we recreated this effect digitally to mirror the exact structure and feel of their fleet graphics. This creates a strong sense of continuity between their website, vehicles and wider brand presence.

The client was particularly pleased that we were able to recover and secure their existing domain, protecting their online reputation and ensuring a smooth transition from the old site to the new.
